ShutterNet Mission Statement

ShutterNet provides Business Customers with Bandwidth/Internet Solutions supported by a highly technical, highly trained staff.  We provide our customers with unprecedented availability to very technical support staff and very detailed information regarding their accounts.  We provide our customers with the necessary tools to add value to their Internet connection to improve their business and productivity.

 ShutterNet History

A very, very long time ago the Internet was born (ok, it wasn't really THAT long ago but in Internet Years is seemed that way!),  there was a small company who’s clients could not find a Business-to-Business Internet provider who valued their time and their technical ability.  That company, Computer Data, Inc., had the expertise and experienced staff to provide these services.  With hard work, sweat,  a couple of routers, and quite a few all-nighters, ShutterNet was born! 

ShutterNet, founded in 1996, provided T-1, ISDN, DSL, Web Hosting, and Co-Locations services to their customers.  Known for our personal touch, our understanding of how our services impact our customers bottom line, our highly technical customer support, we quickly grew, providing High End bandwidth services to select Metro Detroit area clients. 

Small?  Yes, we were small.  We liked it that way.  Our customers knew us by our first  names, and we knew them by theirs.  They didn’t have to go through voice mail hell or an auto-attendant to get the information they were seeking – they called, they spoke to someone they knew, someone that could answer their question – or look into it and actually respond!

THEN WE GOT BIG.  Not by choice, but by acquisition.  Ok, acquisition was a choice, but we all know the saying ‘an offer too good to refuse’.  Many promises later, following the acquisition, the ShutterNet team started to break up.  Soon, there were not even any employees at ShutterNet!  And guess what?  All those happy clients started to leave.  With good reason – no more high end support, no more personal service, no more first name basis! 

Small Again. On August 19, 2002, Computer Data, Inc. announced the RE-ACQUISITION of ShutterNet.  The original team that founded, grew, and supported ShutterNet came back (much wiser of course), and are running ShutterNet once again.  “Under Old Management” is our preferred way of stating the following – the highly technical, highly professional, highly customer-centric team is once again running the show!  Give us a call - we remember you....
